Request: CLI API Key...

Hi team 👋
I’ve opened support ticket #794035 to request a CLI API key (bs_sk...) for my workspace buildship-zbrojw.
Could you please confirm or help enable this CLI token for my workspace? 🙏
Thanks in advance!

Based on the available BuildShip documentation and support resources, there is no evidence of self-service or public documentation for generating or managing CLI API keys (such as bs_sk...) for BuildShip workspaces. The standard approach for API key management in BuildShip involves using the platform’s visual workflow editor to configure API calls, where keys can be securely stored as secrets and referenced in nodes—this is well-documented for integrating with external APIs and services. However, for CLI-specific API keys tied to workspace access, the process appears to be handled exclusively by the BuildShip support team on a case-by-case basis, as these permissions involve account-level security and are not exposed in the product UI or public docs. If you require a CLI API key, you must contact BuildShip support directly, as indicated by your experience with support ticket #794035. There is no indication that CLI API keys can be created, viewed, or managed through the BuildShip application or documentation without manual intervention from the support team. 🔗 References: 1. https://www.cometapi.com/how-to-use-buildship-with-cometapi-integration/ 2. https://support.buildship.com/m/1194199388902404246 3. https://support.buildship.com/m/1369745528904093787 4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ehFdORNIaE 5. https://support.buildship.com/m/1247511118151290941 6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1JMP6G1Lqo 7. https://support.buildship.com/m/1193566401567400116 8. https://support.buildship.com/m/1248951778616020992 9. https://support.buildship.com/m/1249724420814274692

Hi @David – PoliWorld , thanks for sharing it via support. there is no such CLI API key... Were you able to tryout Export as Function feature? It should works for your self host usecase.
David – PoliWorld
Thanks a lot, Gaurav 🙏 Got it — I’ll try using the Export as Function feature for my workspace. Just to confirm, does this export generate the complete function JSON that can be used externally for integration or automation purposes? Appreciate your help!

It will provide you with full SDK and pre-built function script for your workflow or toolkit along with readme steps which you can directly execute locally or selfhosted via the utility function. We're are open to feedback!

That’s perfect, Gaurav 🙏
I’ll review the generated SDK and script once exported. Thanks for confirming — I’ll share feedback after testing the local execution.
